Twelfth International Iris Murdoch Conference, University of Chichester, 14–16 August 2026

The Twelfth International Conference on Iris Murdoch studies will take place at the University of Chichester in 2026. The conference will showcase ongoing, and published, Murdoch scholarship with a particular focus on ‘Influences and Inspirations’. See the full CfP here.
All tickets include:
- Exhibition Launch – 2:30 p.m. Thursday 13 August (with a complimentary exhibition brochure and a glass of fizz).
- Guided Walk – 5:30 p.m. Thursday 13 August.
- Entry to all events and keynote talks on site
- Refreshments each morning
- Buffet lunch each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
- Afternoon tea and cake each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Please note: Evening meals are not included.
The exhibition launch and guided walk on Thursday are both limited to 35 attendees, so early booking is essential. RSVP to the exhibition launch here and to the guided walk here.
There is a post-conference party on the Sunday evening, which includes a meal and a welcome drink for £25, tickets available here.
Please note we have a limited amount of accommodation on site that can be booked via this link, so do book early to avoid disappointment; the price includes breakfast.
The Iris Murdoch Collections at Kingston University Archives will be extending its opening hours before, during and after the conference to accommodate researchers. Bookings should be made in advance to archivist Dayna Miller by emailing archives@kingston.ac.uk.
